NECK PAIN...
WHY SUFFER?
Neck pain is a sign that something is wrong! Neck pain is so common that some people believe it is just a normal part of life or aging. Neck damage can come about in a number of ways, often reaching back to a person’s childhood. The problem could arise from a fall or a sports injury as a child, whiplash from a car accident, sitting—whether at a computer, in the car or in front of the TV—for long periods of time or improperly, or even the birth process itself. A neck injury could be from one incident that is life altering or it could be a series of non-perceptible irritations that eventually culminate in a bigger injury. Usually, it is the typical activities we all do day-to-day that create neck pain.
A frequent cause of neck pain is the malfunction of spinal bones in the neck and upper back. When bones of the spine lose their normal position or motion, sensitive nerves and blood vessels to the head can be affected. It’s easy to see how this could cause neck pain.
It might seem a simple solution to take aspirin and drugs to cover up these warning signs, but the actual cause of the neck pain is not being addressed.
Many people find relief with chiropractic care. If a thorough examination reveals reduced range of motion, loss of normal spinal curves, mechanical restrictions, short ligaments or tight muscles, chiropractic care will make a difference. Chiropractic adjustments will alleviate the day-to-day tension that builds up in each of us. This will reduce your painful symptoms. Much of Dr. Kjaer’s practice is treating and correcting neck pain. A very common reason people are referred to this office is for neck pain.
There is a good chance chiropractic care will help if you have:
* pain that goes down the back of your neck into your shoulders
* pain or spasm in your shoulders that radiates up into your neck
* pain in the arms or hands
* reduced ability to turn and bend your head
* headaches
* dizziness
* blurred vision
* a child complaining of a sore neck. For example, their backpack or their many falls or sports injuries can cause serious postural misalignments. Children will benefit from chiropractic care too.
A chiropractor utilizes effective strategies and treatments to correct this and other musculo-skeletal problems. Ultimately, this will ensure that you get the most out of your family time, hobbies and physical activities.
